The VBeam Laser is a type of pulsed-dye laser that’s proven to be reliable over the years–called a vascular laser because it tends to be good for treating blood vessel conditions.
What conditions exactly? We’re talking about broken capillaries, rosacea, spider veins, and all the works.
Meanwhile, it’s also great for certain kinds of pigmentation issues such as sun spots, while also providing the usual laser treatment skin rejuvenation benefits at helping general concerns such as wrinkles and acne scars.
Its efficacy at treating these conditions has to do with the way the laser works. A pulsed dye laser uses a dye to produce lasers of different colors–and correspondingly different wavelengths. The pulsing, meanwhile, refers to the way the laser is delivered in high intensity at short bursts.
The reason for the different color of light is because different colors target different bodily structures.
Hence a great deal of precision is afforded: target based on the specific color needed. While this isn’t as useful for targets of a wider breadth, it’s great for targeting very specific structures, such as blood vessels. Need to get rid of a blood vessel as narrow as 1 millimeter? Use yellow light, which will be absorbed by the blood vessel. It won’t damage the surrounding skin at all.
Of course, the downside is if you have a diffuse treatment area. For example, splotches of sunspot across the arm might be better treated by another type of skin rejuvenation that targets more broadly.
Like many laser treatments, VBeam tends to work best for those with fairer skin. Olive skin can work with the VBeam, but the treatment doesn’t tend to be very effective for those with darker skin.
