Don’t Make these Mistakes After Botox in Northern Virginia

You can scour the web and easily find thousands of articles bragging about the amazing results from Botox Northern Virginia. However, very few highlight what not to do following a treatment session.

That’s right, commit one of these mistakes below and you may mess up your results!

Do Not Lie Down After Botox

Sure, most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities such as work or running errands after an injection session.

However, one rule that you should definitely keep in mind is that you should avoid laying down for at least four hours after your Botox treatment.

The reason why you should not lie down is that when you do so your Botox may migrate, and the act of lying down may place pressure in your treatment areas which can be a problem.

Do Not Hit the Gym After Botox

Rigorous workouts such as running or CrossFit along with exercises that place your head below your heart such as yoga are a big no-no following a Botox treatment.

Most professionals recommend avoiding physical activity for at least 24 hours for best results.

No Touching!

Moving your facial muscles and creating natural movement is always OK after an injection. However, patients should take care to avoid touching or massaging the treatment area.

When this happens, it is not uncommon for the Botox to move to other areas of the face which can really impact your results.

Try to keep your hands away from your face for at least a few hours after your treatment while the Botox settles and works its magic.

Skip The Wine

Alcohol can act as blood thinner, which can increase bruising and swelling and slow your recovery time.  We recommend avoiding alcohol for a couple of days following your Botox treatment for best results.
